PREPARE FOR PHOTO DAY CHECKLIST

Exteriors – The Face of Your Home

  • Turn any & all lights on

    • Replace burned-out light bulbs & use the same temperature as existing

  • Clean windows extremely well & close them

  • Sweep and clear walkways

  • Clear clutter

  • Straighten and stage deck & patios furniture

  • Remove off-site or store in the garage or storage unit

    • Garbage & recycle cans

    • Bicycles & toys

    • Pet beds, bowls, crates, houses, supplies & waste

    • Garden tools & supplies

    • Seasonal décor

    • Recreational vehicles, trailers, and projects

    • Security system and Realtor yard signs

    • Doormats

  • Yards

    • Pick up leaves, sticks, branches, and waste

    • Trim trees, bushes, and shrubs

    • Mow grass

  • Pools & Spas

    • Store covers, supplies, tools toys, and vacuum hoses

    • Turn on lights & waterfalls

  • NOTE: The garage is your safe space. Use it to your advantage to store items, unless you and your Realtor decide to have the garage photographed for the listing.

 

Interiors – The Heart of Your Home

  • Turn any & all lights on

    • Replace burned-out light bulbs & use the same temperature

  • Turn off ceiling fans & TVs

    • Have ceiling fan remotes in working order.​

  • Clean windows extremely well & close them

  • Open shades & blinds

  • Clear, clean & sweep, or vacuum floors & walkways

  • Clear clutter & clean

    • Coat racks & key hangers

    • Couches

      • Blankets

    • Counters

      • Dishes, dish racks, soap dispensers, sponges

      • Soaps, toothbrushes & pastes, brushes, hair products, medicines

    • Glass, mirrors, & showers

      • The cleaner the better!

      • Spots can show up and ruin the views

    • Refrigerators

      • Magnets & Pictures

    • Shelves, desks, tables, nightstands

      • Chargers, keys, laptops, mail, newspapers, phones, & remotes

    • Showers & tubs

      • Brushes, conditioners, loofahs, razors, shampoos, toys

    • Toilets

      • Lids down

    • Remove very personal items & photos

    • Walk-in closets

  • Items to temporarily store in the storage space or garage

    • Active-duty & law-enforcement apparel, gear & firearms, if desired.

    • Children's playhouses & toys

    • Doormats & small rugs

    • Health & medical equipment

    • Kitchen appliances & utensils

    • Over-the-door hangers

    • Pet beds, bowls, crates, houses & supplies

    • Seasonal décor, such as Halloween decorations

    • Shoes, backpacks, purses, umbrellas, leashes

    • Toilet brushes & plungers

    • Waste & laundry baskets
